Scale-up.NRW – The new batch! 

Scale-upNRW Launch Night 2024

After months of careful evaluation and jury decisions, the next batch of pioneers is ready to embark on their journey with Scale-up.NRW.  

The startups are, on average, 4,6 years old, created 317 jobs in total to date, and raised 61 M€ in funding so far. Welcome the startups of batch #3 – chosen from over 200 applications:

Pitch Night in Cologne  

The 13 participating startups celebrated the launch of the program above the rooftops of Cologne at KölnSKY with guests and speakers such as Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Tim Schumacher, serial founder and World Fund General Partner, and influencer, founder and investor Diana zur Löwen. 

22 M€ Funding for startup bezahl.de 

More good news: Scale-up.NRW participant bezahl.de closed Germany’s highest Series B financing round of the year and in the program’s history. The team around founders Lasse Diener and Ulrich Schmidt secured 22M€! Investors are PayPal Ventures, Seaya Ventures, Walter Ventures, and Motive Ventures.

Start2raise: Kick-Off of the new cohort 

Start2raise has kicked-off the new cohort of 10 startups on May 13: For 24 months, the founders from all over Germany receive individual support for their fundraising, six months of which they are personally coached by mentors specially selected for their needs and benefit from the know-how of Start2’s top experts.
